Paypal sucks? Looking for alternative? Beginner's guide to online transaction
Ease of payment is the key to success of online trading and transaction. Unfortunately, many small businesses (or individual businesses) sometimes find it difficult to apply as merchants to be able to accept credit card payments from customers. Requesting checks, and wire/transfers for payments will just drive potential customers away!! Thankfully to online transaction system, these can be easily incorporated into your website. You don't have a website? Not to worry, because these systems will work fine with e-mails. You can send emails with link to any of these systems to your clients to request payments, and from this link they can pay with their credit cards, and/or many other means of their conveniences. You can just sit back and watch your account grow... Even though the account is in the virtual world, the money is real! Upon reaching minimum amount (usually around 20 US Dollars), you can withdraw your money by checks, bank transfer, or even direct to your credit card. Online system like Paypal is probably the best known transaction system in the net. There have been some rumors about paypal ripping off clients with high commission rates, and even freezing clients' accounts. I have been using paypal for years, but never experienced such difficulties. If you like another option, Alertpay system works almost the same with paypal except for the lack of ability to withdraw funds to credit cards. I have been using alertpay system also for my online transaction. Alertpay proves to be a convenience way to do the transaction with lower commission rates than Paypal! I would recommend registering with personal accounts first (free to join), for they provide free services and only charge for commissions from payments (2.4% + 0.25 USD per transaction for AlertPay). The rest of the services are free to use. I would also recommend that you become verified member (you have to submit an ID and some utility or credit card bills to prove that you are a real living person) to be able to receive money from some wider range of clients. Please choose your system (I use both) and happy trading....
